The game started out great, some bugs but that's to be expected, I'm not going into the trial program cause someones already explained that. Here I am, couple level 80 characters now, the only place for an 80 is Kashetta, it's more croweded by the day, Ok I can deal with that, then they start messing with the balenceing of characters, they toughen the bosses to where it's near impossible for a group to kill. They nerf the characters cause ones stronger than another in pvp so we cant have that. Lets not listen to the non pvpers, lets not fix the quests that are broken, lets not fix the tons of places to get stuck in the landscape that /stuck wont get you out of..... now the last patch they did, NERF all the gems toughen the bosses yet again! ect ect, lets just say out of the 300+ person guild I'm "in" theres maybe 10 on right now and non of them are me. I can survive the bugs, you know the tons of bugs when a game launches, just like EQ2 and all but their going nuts with the nerf bat and the "lets toughen up the bosses".
SO while the game is cool I love the fatalites and all, the rest is just messed up.
Oh I forgot the part where the people that preordered got a cape, only for them to give the special cape to everyone, and the totem home code you got from a game magazine they decided to screw those people too by giving them out to everyone.
I wish they'd would work on it cause the game is going down fast, people leaving left and right.

1. Make sure you have verified your PC can handel the game.
2. Get your updates for your hardware; most recent the better.
3. Character creation is fantastic. Tons of choices.
4. levels 1-5 are pretty close to identical for all characters.
5. levels 6-20 allows the characters to choose some different paths but all lead to a battle with a boss.
6. Read the forums about your specific character. I have found it so much easy to follow in the footsteps of those that have proceeded before me. Look for guides for skill points and feat points as this makes your game play a lot better.
7. 1 tip 1 part is to pick up as many quest you can in the early levels, 2 part try to complete those quest in the different areas of the island at once. Saves tons of time running back and forth from the different areas. Try different characters you can have up to 8. Find a couple you really like and continue on past level 20 and the island of Tortage!

Age of Conan (AoC), had my expectations rather high. First of all, I am not a hardened MMORPG player but someone who enjoys a variety of games. At first AoC looked great and sounded like a fresh take on the MMORPG genre. Before I go farther my PC is a dedicated gaming rig that should handle anything thrown at it, so my PC wasn't at fault.
Pros:
A less cartoon-like MMORPG. Nice environments. An actual combat system that requires timing and attention. Large variety of classes to play. Simple interface to change instances to play with your friends. Pretty good voice acting and music.
Cons:
First thing I noticed when I registered is that they decided not to give out he free 7-day pass for one friend. Although they advertised it, they decided not to provide it. The single player portion, has a good story but no real role-playing decisions involved. It is pretty simple and relatively mindless, after a while you just skip all dialog because it doesn't help. After you cook of all of the water it is just boils down to another basic hoarding game where all you do is go get something and comeback. The combat system although different, becomes boring after doing the same thing a thousand times. Lack of game moderators to fix problems like being stuck in scenery is really irritating. For a monthly fee they should at least be able to rig a script to get a player unstuck if you aren't even going to moderate the game. Very buggy game, one day I had to restart the game several times due to server problems. This would not be so bad if it was just on occasion, but it plagues everyone I game with.
Conclusion:
Overall, the game just isn't fun. I really wanted to enjoy the game, but it isn't worth the initial price or the monthly fee or the time lost.
AoC = Fail

In game moderators banning people left and right in game for utilizing terrain to defeat mobs. Forum Mods banning and deleting any post that is critical of their game flame or not. In game issues like falling through the world and your petition for help spans for days without response. No directx10 what so ever. System spec to run game are wrong on the box. Very poor support for 32 bit systems. No responses to emails to their supposed service desk and the list goes on and on. Do your self a favor and pass on this game. The 50$ you save will be better spent in your fuel tank.

If you have an older PC plan on buying another one to play this. Oh and the $14.00 a month to play it online. Other than that I like it I played it on my friends PC on his game. I hav'nt played mine yet for I'm saving up for that new PC. I'm a big Conan fan from the first comic book I bought. This game dose not disapoint me. The extra stuff you get from this collectors edition is great for a collector and gamer. However don't wast your money if your just a gamer. Plus it takes up a lot of room.
