This is the best pirate movie ever and one on my top ten movies list!The great Charlton Heston has passed away but the long list of great movies he left behind will always be with us.It would truly be tragic if this movie is not released on DVD.I hope the powers that be (TBN)get the message.

This is by far the Best adaption on film of Treasure Island, I do not know why this is not on DVD! They need to get this on DVD SOON LIKE NOW!!!

Maybe the accents aren't authentic but the actors are the most believable, Heston is terrific as Silver and I normally hate Heston's acting. I wish the uncut DVD was available. Locations, cinematography are fantastic.

This movie is incredible - blows Disney version away! Charlton Heston is an amazing Long John Silver. The rest of the cast is absolutely perfect,too. The music by the Irish Band, Chieftens is so upbeat and exciting. The story line sticks to the book (Imagine that!) This movie brings to life what I consider to be one of the best adventure stories ever to be written. IT IS GREAT!!

Simply outstanding from every perspective, and certainly the truest to the original book! All apologies to Bobby Driscoll, but the cast of this version is really quite unbeatable! Brilliant filming, brilliant sets, brilliant music as well, the only thing I simply CANNOT understand, is WHY TNT has not released this on DVD?? As said by Billy Bones, "It's rum that I need Jim...."
