Director Harold Ramis (who later reunited with Murray to make Groundhog Day) is content to let the comedy follow a variety of wacky detours, most notably Murray's maniacal war with a gopher that has been digging up the golf course. Dangerfield ultimately steals the show, firing off a battery of one-liners, insults, and tasteless gags. Of course the movie is great and it was a great price, but the copy I received was a standard edition and not the 20th anniversary edition; I feel cheated.

This is not high brow comedy by any stretch, but it makes no difference since there are so many funny lines and scenes that it all comes together to make me laugh all these years later.
