Amazon.com: This beginning-level 1988 video was previously titled 30 minute Non- Aerobic Trim & Tone. After a standing warm-up, Denise Austin and class participants get down on the mat to tone the hips, thighs, and abdomen. Some of the exercises are very effective, such as the varied series for the abs. Some are outdated, such as pelvic tilts for the buttocks (squats and lunges are much more effective). Most are traditional floor work for the lower body, such as a variety of side-lying leg lifts that target the inner and outer thighs. A nice touch is the use of insets with alignment and technique tips to help you know you're doing the exercises correctly. The exercises are not as up-to-date as her later videos, but if you're just getting used to exercising, you'll get simple exercises and technique. --Joan Price

This video is very effective. I lost about a full dress size while doing this video only 3 times a week. It can be an excellent add on for your other workouts (so it doesn't get stale).
